Abbey's Pitching Debut

Just look at my baby on that pitcher's mound! I'm so proud of her. She came home from practice one day saying "Coach Smith is going to teach me how to pitch" and I said "go for it girl"!! She's been out in the yard pitching to the brick wall almost every day since then. She pitched her first inning at West Marion two weeks ago and I think she did AWESOME for her first time on the mound. She was so nervous but managed to get two strikeouts and only had one run scored on her.( or was it two?) To be a beginner she has good control of the ball and is getting it in the strike zone fairly well. All she needs is a little more HEAT on it!! Which will come with more practice and maybe some weight lifting to build a little muscle in her bony arms. She sure has come along way since her first ballpractice 9mths ago.
