Nana planted this beautiful flower in my flower bed way back when it was her flowerbed!! It has only bloomed a few times since I have lived here and I am always so excited when it does! It is just another beautiful reminder of a very beautiful lady!! You will have to comment on the post Nana and tell everyone the name of it!

We Found The One........

After a couple of months searching and debating we finally found "the one"! Sunday afternoon our whole crew went to look at puppies with Tom and his crew. Shelly had told us at lunch about a friend of ours who had several different litters of pups for sale. Out of about 25 puppies this little fella was the only one of his kind; the rest were either black/white or red/white. As soon as I saw him I knew I had to have him! His dad is a beautiful miniature blue Meryl Australian Shepard / mom is a Rat Terrier and it looks like our little guy is going to take after his dad. His little eyes only opened for a moment but I could see he had a blue one. He is only two weeks old so it will be a few weeks before we can bring him home. I'm so excited!

Abbey's Pitching Debut

Just look at my baby on that pitcher's mound! I'm so proud of her. She came home from practice one day saying "Coach Smith is going to teach me how to pitch" and I said "go for it girl"!! She's been out in the yard pitching to the brick wall almost every day since then. She pitched her first inning at West Marion two weeks ago and I think she did AWESOME for her first time on the mound. She was so nervous but managed to get two strikeouts and only had one run scored on her.( or was it two?) To be a beginner she has good control of the ball and is getting it in the strike zone fairly well. All she needs is a little more HEAT on it!! Which will come with more practice and maybe some weight lifting to build a little muscle in her bony arms. She sure has come along way since her first ballpractice 9mths ago. The video is from last nights game @North Pike and the picture is her actual first pitch at West Marion. Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!! Will add picture later got to go!

What have I been doing????????

Past few weeks have been busy as usual. There have been birthdays to celebrate, ball practices and games to go to, pageants to be ready for and just a little bit of sickness to deal with. As far as the sickness goes, our family has been blessed. Shelby was down a few days with upper respiratory problems, but she bounced back quickly and is doing fine. Wish I could say the same for the Cowarts!! Poor guys have been battleling broken bones, sugeries and the flu. This too shall pass Jenn!!!
Our birthdays for this year started with Hayden in January, Shelby in Febuary and Emily and Jody will celebrate theirs this month. Time is passing by so fast and the kids are just growing like crazy. I have one daughter wearing my jeans and the other in my shoes. I was shocked to hear Abbey say last week that her softball cleats I had bought in August were killing her feet. In 6 months she went from a 81/2 to a 10 in ball cleats. Oh my, you know what that means all of her other shoes need replacing as well!
Softball has been going great, Abbey is playing on the JV fast-pitch team and Emily is team manager. I have been having a great time going to games and watching practices. Abbey has improved tremendously and is even trying her hand at pitching. She hasn't pitched at a game yet but may get to tonight at West Marion. So far the JV team is undefeated and the varsity girls are 4 and 2 (i think). If you ever have the chance come watch them play, I think you will be impressed with the talent you see on the field. GO LADY DAWGS!! After their season winds down then the little girls league will start up. Some of the varsity girls coach these teams and Shelby has decided thats where she wants to play this year. So ends her baseball career!! I was a little sad at first cause of how much I love being a part of Dixie Youth and don't want to miss anything going on down there. But, with the boys still playing there I know I won't miss too much. It sure was great having them all play at the same field the past several years. No problem though, I can be at two places at once!! Can't I????? Hope everyone has a blessed rest of week and weekend.

I was tagged by a couple of people to find my fourth folder where my pictures are kept and then select the fourth photo and tell about it! My fourth picture is of Shelby, it was taken a couple of years ago at Bude Baptist Bible School. She is wearing the chaps and vest her Nana gave her for Christmas one year! I remember even doing a post about it on my blog!

Deer season ends with a BANG................

Three BANGS to be exact! Bryden, Emily and Hayden each added a doe to the kill list on the last weekend of deer season. The Smitherring's have become a deadly bunch of HUNTERS and have just had a blast hunting on the farm this year. Thank-you Papa for giving us a place to spend quality time with our kids! Anything we can do as a Family can only strengthen us!

I have been working most of the day setting up my new Blogspot! I helped Abbey set up her Blog and found this site to be easy to use and FREE, so I decided why not make a change. I love anything FREE! Especially with the way our economy is today. To all my faithful followers I would like to say "Thank-you" and I promise to try and blog more. To any new readers I would like to introduce my family to you. Bottom row L-R= Bryden (9), Shelby(9), Hayden(8) Top row L-R= Emily(13), Jody, Tiffany and Abbey(12). The name of my blog is based on our BLENDED family; Smith+Herrings= Smitherrings!!! Life in the blender is always busy and sometimes just down right insane. But, I wouldn't have it any other way!
